South Coast Open
7 – 10 June June (Long Weekend) 2024
The South Coast Open acts as a stepping stone to the Australian Pro Tour and offers both prize money and Australian Ranking Points, with a Competition for A, B and C Grade Players.
Open matches include Men’s and Women’s Singles, and Men’s and Women’s Doubles. This level is for the very high standard of player who is experienced in playing tournaments and for prize money. Usually this player is actively competing for ranking points in Australia and sometimes on the satellite to international level.
The graded events are –
A Grade singles and doubles: This level is for the player who is of a high standard and is experienced in playing a number of lower competitive tournaments as well as Division 1 in their club or pennant.
B Grade singles and doubles: This level of player enjoys their tennis and a challenge. They can competently rally with pace and direction, and have a sound knowledge of spins. For juniors this is also a good level if you have started playing Junior/State UTR Series.
C Grade singles and doubles: This level of player has a basic but effective game, usually plays once or twice a week socially and can rally and get their serves in. This grade is perfect for novice to beginner players just finding their feet in tennis, juniors just starting local weekend competitions, a casual mature aged player who plays socially a few times per week or who just likes a game or two on the weekends.
